church web site hostingQuestion about web hosting?

Our church is currently hosted on a site that has over the years become overloaded and runs very slowly. Our churches site was built using Web Empowered Churches Typo3, which is not very user friendly. I’d like to re-design our website (using some program that does not need an Masters Degree to use), and then find a decent low cost hosting service. I welcome any advice and suggestions.

Better you make the site on a computer first so as to always have a backup copy of all files. Any of the following would be good to use and would save you from having to log in every time just to make new pages or edit old ones.

If you get a site that allows FTP, uploading new and edited files will be so much easier than using a free site’s File Upload Utility. Plus, you may have need of PHP and a database where you can install WordPress for Blogging, a Photo Gallery for use by the church members and even a Content Management System (CMS) in case more than one member will be allowed to edit site.
